about

Sara Maiorino_Headshot.jpg

Sara is an Italian Australian artist based in Mparntwe/Alice Springs. They are passionate about using photography as a medium for creating connections, provoking critical reflection and telling stories. Sara's work revolves around concepts such as identity, culture, nostalgia, migration, class, gender and the beauty in the small stuff. Sara's experiences as a first generation Italian Australian thread their way through all of their work, sometimes loudly and other times ruminating quietly in the background.

Also an (ex) social worker, Sara uses photography as a means of social and political commentary outside of the constraints of the ngo and government sectors.

Sara is currently working as a freelance photographer and framer at Chapman and Bailey in Mparntwe/Alice Springs.
